How phone calls work

ADCRR provides inmate phone service through Securus, which the department adopted in August 2024, replacing the prior vendor, ICSolutions. Calls are placed by the incarcerated person — a person outside cannot call in.

To receive or pay for calls, a family member sets up a Securus account — a prepaid AdvanceConnect account — at securustech.net or by phone at 1-800-844-6591.

This arrangement applies to every Arizona state prison, including the contracted private prisons.

Call recording

Calls are generally monitored and recorded, except properly designated privileged legal calls.

Call rates

Do not rely on a fixed per-minute figure. Rates, fees, and features change. Check Securus for current rates and how to open an account.

Tablets, messaging, and email

Tablets are provided through Securus. Incarcerated people place calls and send messages from the tablets.

Securus also handles ADCRR’s off-site digital mail — incoming personal mail scanned at an off-site center (see the mail guide).

Video visits

Video visits run through Securus. The visitor must be on the approved visitor list — the same list used for an in-person visit. The visiting guide covers how the approved list and visits are arranged.
