Arizona's state prison complex for women, in Goodyear — it holds the entire women's prison population, the women's reception center, and the women's death-sentence unit.

Overview

ASPC-Perryville, on North Citrus Road in Goodyear, is Arizona’s state prison complex for women — it has held the state’s female prison population since 2000. It is also the women’s reception center, where newly committed women are received and classified, and it includes the Lumley Unit, which houses women under a death sentence. The complex is made up of several units across different custody levels, and visiting is arranged at the unit level.

What Makes ASPC-Perryville Different

  • It is Arizona’s only women’s prison complex, holding essentially the entire female population.
  • It is the women’s reception center, so a newly committed woman begins here before classification.
  • The Lumley Unit holds women under a death sentence, where visiting arrangements may differ — confirm with the unit.
  • It is in the west Phoenix metro, in Goodyear.
