A high-custody men's prison complex in Florence — it holds one of Arizona's two men's death rows (the Browning Unit) and the state's highest-security men's units.

Overview

ASPC-Eyman, on East Butte Avenue in Florence, is a high-custody men’s prison complex — it holds maximum and close custody units and one of Arizona’s two men’s death rows, in its Browning Unit (which also serves as the intake point for men newly sentenced to death). The complex is made up of several units, and because of its security level, visiting and movement are more controlled than at lower-custody prisons. Visiting is arranged at the unit level.

What Makes ASPC-Eyman Different

  • It holds one of Arizona’s two men’s death rows (the Browning Unit).
  • It is a high-security complex (maximum and close custody), so visiting, movement, and property are more restricted.
  • Some housing has non-contact visits, which differ from general-population contact visits — confirm the person’s unit and visit type.
  • It is in Florence, Pinal County, in a cluster of state prisons southeast of Phoenix.

Mail

Personal mail does not go to the prison. Since December 2025, Arizona routes incoming personal mail to an off-site Securus digital-mail center in Dallas, Texas, where it is scanned and delivered to the person’s tablet; address it to [person’s name and ADCRR number], P.O. Box 211309, Dallas, TX 75211. Legal mail, publications, and parcels still go directly to the complex. Full rules are in Mail & Packages.
