Ross Correctional Institution (RCI), on State Route 104 near Chillicothe, Ross County, is a close-to-maximum-security men’s prison that holds Ohio’s primary death row for men. The death-row housing unit was relocated here from the neighboring Chillicothe Correctional Institution in spring 2024. RCI opened in 1987 and has a capacity of about 2,037.
