A minimum-custody men's work camp in St. Anthony, eastern Idaho, where residents hold paid jobs in the community to build skills and savings.

Overview

St. Anthony Work Camp is a minimum- and community-custody prison for men operated by the Idaho Department of Correction (IDOC). It is in St. Anthony, in Fremont County, in eastern Idaho.

The camp’s mission is paid employment. Residents hold jobs with government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private employers in the surrounding community, which is intended to build work skills and savings ahead of release.

Getting There

St. Anthony Work Camp is at 125 N. 8th West in St. Anthony, in eastern Idaho. It is a long distance from the cluster of IDOC prisons in the Boise area, which is in the western part of the state. Visitors traveling from western Idaho should account for that drive.

Visitors confirm current entry procedures and what may be brought onto the grounds with the facility before arriving, because electronic devices and personal items are generally not permitted inside.

Visiting

Idaho arranges visiting at each facility, and there is no statewide online scheduler for in-person visits. Visiting requires an approved application first: a visitor submits an application to the institution, and approval normally takes about two to four weeks after the resident is classified and the background check clears. Confirm the current days and hours with the facility before traveling. See the Visiting in Idaho guide for the approval process, dress code, and what to expect.

Mail

Idaho does not use an off-site mail vendor for its state prisons. Incoming personal mail goes directly to the facility, where staff inspect it before delivery. Address personal mail with the resident’s committed name and IDOC number, the facility name, and the facility’s address:

[Resident’s full name and IDOC number] St. Anthony Work Camp 125 N. 8th West St. Anthony, ID 83445

See the Mail & Packages guide for what may be sent and what gets rejected.

Phones and Tablets

Phone service runs through ICSolutions, and residents use ViaPath tablets for tablet services and messaging. See the Phone & Video Calls and Sending Money guides for accounts, call costs, and how to add funds to a resident’s account.
