A CoreCivic-run private prison in Florence, Arizona where Idaho began holding men out of state in 2026, with its own visiting, mail, phone, and money procedures.

Overview

The Central Arizona Florence Correctional Complex is a privately operated prison in Florence, Arizona, run by CoreCivic, a private corrections company. It holds men from Idaho under a contract with the Idaho Department of Correction. It is the newer of Idaho’s two Arizona placements, alongside the Saguaro Correctional Center in Eloy.

Idaho began transferring men to the complex in 2026 to manage a prison system operating over capacity. About 120 Idaho men had been moved there by late March 2026, with about 200 more planned. As of 2026, roughly 700 Idaho men were held out of state, all in CoreCivic-run Arizona facilities, amid chronic overcrowding in Idaho’s in-state prisons. The complex also holds other populations in separate groups.

Idaho describes these out-of-state transfers as temporary rather than a long-term solution.

Visiting at the Florence Complex

In-person visiting requires travel to Florence, Arizona.

Days, hours, and current rules can change. Confirm the current visiting schedule and requirements with the facility before traveling.

Mail

Letters are sent to the resident at the mailing address with the resident’s committed name and IDOC number:

[Resident name + IDOC number] PO Box 6300 Florence, AZ 85132

Money must not be enclosed with letters.

Phone, Tablets, and Money

Idaho’s vendors generally apply to Idaho residents held at the complex — ICSolutions for phones, ViaPath for tablets, and Access Corrections for money. Because the complex is operated by CoreCivic, some of these processes can differ from Idaho’s in-state facilities, and tablet and video access is delayed after a person arrives while those services are set up. Confirm the current methods for phone, tablet, video, and money with the facility, and see the Idaho phone and video and money guides below.
