A men's reentry center in Somers for people nearing release, with veterans' and other specialized programming. Formerly part of Willard-Cybulski Correctional Institution; the Willard building closed in 2023.
Overview
Cybulski Community Reintegration Center, in Somers, is a Level 2 (low-security) facility focused on reentry — preparing men nearing release to return to the community. It runs program pathways in recovery, education and jobs, family reunification, and health and wellness, and it has a Veterans’ Services Unit and a DUI unit. The reintegration center was established in 2015. It was formerly the Cybulski half of Willard-Cybulski Correctional Institution; the separate Willard building closed on April 1, 2023, as the state prison population fell, and the facility now operates under the Cybulski Community Reintegration Center name.
What Makes Cybulski Different
It is a reentry center, holding men in the final stretch before release, with transition-focused programming.
Visiting is split by last name — A–K and L–Z visit on different days — so the schedule depends on the person’s last name.
It has specialized units for veterans and for people convicted of DUI offenses.
The Willard building closed in 2023, and the operation continues as the Cybulski Community Reintegration Center.
