Ramsey is in Rosharon, in Brazoria County south of Houston. The unit is reached by farm-to-market roads off the main highways, and it sits near several other TDCJ units in the same area.

Contact has a sequence to it. A phone number must be on the incarcerated person’s approved contact list before calls can connect, and after intake or a transfer that approval can take time to process. Rosharon is small, with limited commercial services. Pearland, to the north, and Angleton, to the south, are the nearest larger service centers for gas, food, groceries, and lodging, and options thin out on the rural FM-road approach to the unit.
