Muskegon Correctional Facility, on S. Sheridan Drive in Muskegon, is a Level II men’s prison on Michigan’s western lakeshore. It opened in 1974. It has a faith-based housing unit and hosts the Hope-Western Prison Education Program — a partnership of Hope College and Western Theological Seminary that offers an accredited bachelor’s degree to incarcerated students at no cost to them. It sits next to the separate Earnest C. Brooks Correctional Facility, also on S. Sheridan Drive.
