Overview

Earnest C. Brooks Correctional Facility, on S. Sheridan Drive in Muskegon Heights, is a Level I, II, and IV men’s prison on Michigan’s western lakeshore. It opened in 1989 on a 76-acre site, with six housing units separated by internal fencing so that prisoners of different security levels do not mix (Level II, Level IV, and Level I units, plus a segregation unit). It sits next to the separate Muskegon Correctional Facility, also on S. Sheridan Drive.
