Sending Money in Kansas (KDOC)
How to deposit money to a KDOC resident trust account through Access Corrections — by app, online, phone, retail cash, or mailed money order.
How to deposit to the trust account
Money for commissary and personal spending goes into the resident’s trust account. KDOC handles these deposits through Access Corrections. There are several routes:
- In the Access Corrections app, available free from the App Store or Google Play, using a credit or debit card.
- Online at accesscorrections.com, or by phone to Access Corrections at 833-878-0120, using a credit or debit card.
- By phone, on the Access Corrections automated line at 866-345-1884, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- With cash at retail through CashPayToday, at participating stores including Dollar General, Family Dollar, CVS, and 7-Eleven. CashPayToday support is 844-340-2274.
- By money order, mailed to Centralized Resident Banking, P.O. Box 9101, Topeka, KS 66608. Include the sender’s name and return address.
The resident’s full name and KDOC registration number are needed for any deposit, so the funds reach the right account. A money order that arrives without the sender’s name and return address may post differently than intended, so include both.
Fees and limits
Service fees apply to the app, online, phone, and retail methods, and the amounts vary. Access Corrections charges a service fee that is shown before a transaction is completed, so confirm the current amount before paying. Fees can change over time.
The phone and messaging account is separate
The trust account is not the same as the accounts that pay for calls and messages. Phone service runs through ICSolutions, and electronic messaging runs through GettingOut (ViaPath), each funded separately — money added to the trust account does not pay for phone time or messages. For how to set up and add money to the calling and messaging accounts, see Phone & Video Calls.
Don’t hand money over at a visit
Funds are added only through the methods above. Money is not accepted in person during a visit. A money order intended for the trust account goes to Centralized Resident Banking at the Topeka P.O. box — not to the prison where the resident is held. For account questions, Centralized Resident Banking can be reached at 785-746-7630.
