Overview

Trinidad Correctional Facility is a Level II minimum-restricted men’s prison in far southern Colorado. Although named for the city of Trinidad, it is physically located in Model, about 15 miles east of Trinidad on State Highway 350. It has been operational since December 2001 and spans 544 acres. The facility runs a RESTORE reentry program and an Honor House unit that rewards program participation with enhanced-privilege housing, with college access through Trinidad State College and Second Chance Pell.
