Limon Correctional Facility is a Level IV men’s prison on the eastern plains, on State Highway 71 about two miles south of the town of Limon in Lincoln County. It is the highest-security facility among CDOC’s standalone prisons, holding a mix of close custody (about a third) and medium and minimum-restricted custody, in six general-population living units behind a 4,000-foot double-perimeter fence on a 320-acre site. Its incentive unit includes a “Restoring Honor” veterans’ pod, along with higher-education and seminary participants.

Personal mail goes to the facility, addressed with the person’s commitment name and DOC number. Limon is one of the CDOC facilities that photocopies incoming personal mail, delivers the copy, and destroys the original — so do not send originals you want returned.
