Overview

La Vista Correctional Facility, at 1401 W. 17th Street in Pueblo, is a Level III multi-custody women’s prison (minimum to close custody) that is Colorado’s main long-term placement for incarcerated women. It opened in July 2006. Women are first received at the Denver Women’s Correctional Facility (the statewide women’s intake) and many then transfer to La Vista, which has its own intake/diagnostic-orientation unit along with a therapeutic community, re-entry services, and incentive and honor units.

Personal mail goes to the facility, addressed with the person’s commitment name and DOC number. La Vista is one of the CDOC facilities that photocopies incoming personal mail, delivers the copy, and destroys the original — so do not send originals you want returned.
