Delta Correctional Center, on Lockhart Road about nine miles west of the town of Delta, is a minimum-custody men’s facility on Colorado’s Western Slope. It began as the Roubideaux Conservation Training Camp — construction started in 1963 and it was occupied by 1964 — starting with 99 residents and 17 staff, and has expanded several times since on its 113-acre site.
