Overview

Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility, on Highway 96 about four miles west of Ordway in Crowley County, is a Level III medium-security men’s prison in the Arkansas River valley, about 40 miles east of Pueblo. It opened in August 1987. Among its housing, it runs a Restoring Promise Pod and a R.E.S.T.O.R.E. pod — specialized reentry and young-adult program units — along with an incentive living unit.

Arkansas Valley is one of the CDOC facilities that photocopies incoming personal mail, delivers the copy, and destroys the original — so do not send originals you want returned.
