Sending Money in Nebraska (NDCS)
How to deposit to a Nebraska incarcerated person's account through ConnectNetwork or JPay, or by money order to the facility, and why NDCS does not publish deposit fees or a deductions schedule.
How to deposit
Money goes into the incarcerated person’s institutional account. There are two routes:
- Electronically through ConnectNetwork (the ViaPath/GTL platform) — online at ConnectNetwork.com, by phone, or in the app. JPay also processes deposits to NDCS accounts online, by phone, or in its app.
- By mail, with a money order or check (no cash), sent to the facility’s own lockbox address. Each prison has a different address, and the payment must show the incarcerated person’s full committed name and DCS ID number. Look up the correct facility address on the NDCS site or the facility’s page on this site before mailing.
Fees, limits, and deductions
NDCS does not publish deposit fees or limits. ConnectNetwork and JPay charge a service fee that scales with the amount and is shown at checkout, so confirm it before paying. NDCS also does not publish a consolidated schedule of what is deducted from an account (for example, restitution or court-ordered obligations); the facility’s accounting office can explain what applies to a specific person.
Don’t enclose money with personal mail
Do not put a money order or check inside a personal letter. Personal mail is sent to an off-site scanning vendor in Maryland, and any funds enclosed there are returned to sender (see Mail & Packages). Funds go to the facility, not the scanning center.
