Sending Money in Georgia (GDC)
How to deposit to a Georgia inmate's trust account through JPay — online, by phone, with cash via MoneyGram, or by money order to a Florida P.O. box — the information each method requires, and where to confirm fees.
Online, phone, and cash deposits
Georgia uses JPay for money to an inmate’s trust account. Deposits can be made:
- Online at jpay.com or through the JPay app (debit or credit card),
- By phone at 1-800-574-5729, or
- With cash in person via MoneyGram (GDC receiver code 6857).
For any method you need the person’s full committed name, GDC ID number, and current location. JPay charges a service fee that varies by amount and method, so check JPay’s current fee schedule before sending rather than relying on a fixed figure.
Sending a money order by mail
The lowest-cost option is a USPS money order mailed to JPay. Include the person’s full committed name, GDC ID number, and current location:
JPay P.O. Box 246570 Pembroke Pines, FL 33024
A mailed money order takes longer to post than an online or phone deposit.
How the account works
Money sits in the person’s trust account and is sent through JPay; it cannot be handed over during a visit. Funds are spent through the prison’s system, and other obligations may be deducted from deposits.
